PTA

The role of the PTA

The PTA is a voluntary organisation which brings together parents, teachers, school staff and sometimes students at KD Grammar, building parent involvement and community for the welfare of the school. The KD PTA plays an important role in fundraising to support unfunded or under-funded curriculum-based programs, infrastructure improvements and social events - all vital to our school's success.

Membership - We Need You !

The number one reason to join and get involved in the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child by helping our school. The KD PTA is self-funding and has the flexibility to respond to the immediate needs of the KD teachers and their students. As a member, you benefit by:

KD PTA Pack: Each PTA member receives this school pack which provides class lists, and contact information for students and staff. Many families use this directory to contact friends, make new ones and organise events.

Getting connected: There's no better way to know what's happening in your school.

Tapping into a network: Parenting is not easy-it helps to share ideas, concerns and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.

Watching yourself grow: By volunteering with your PTA, you gain valuable experiences. It's an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause.

Sharing your ideas: Because the PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest changes at KD.

Positive Improvement: By getting involved at your child's school you'll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes.

Be a Role Model: By becoming a PTA member, you'll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.
